Lake Michigan Bible Institute was formed as a 501(c)(3) corporation in the State of Michigan in 2022 by a group of individuals with a heart for sound Biblical discipleship, and for the practical application of Scripture in everyday life. We are not supported by, or directly affiliated with any Christian Denomination. We do adhere to a Statement of Faith which credits our redemption and salvation solely to the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our goal is not to promote any particular denomination but to help develop a personal, interactive, and deepening relationship with God in all of our students’ lives - encouraging them to “be doers of the word, and not hearers only,” as spelled out in James 1:22, so that they may glorify God in whatever church setting He has placed them.

About Us

Scott Richardson, President

God-Glorifying

Humans are created in God’s image for God’s glory and to demonstrate God’s power in our lives and to share His Good News with others. As believers we must be equipped to give an account for the hope that God provides us. (1 Peter 3:15) We are equipped to fulfill Christ’s commission (Matthew 28:19-20) when God’s Word is implanted in our hearts. (James 1:21)

At Lake Michigan Bible Institute, we are committed to glorifying God in every aspect of our lives, and by helping our students fulfill their calling through skillful application of the Bible so that one day we can all say, “I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do” (John 17:4). We believe that the ultimate goal of any human is to glorify God.

Christ-Centered

Our conviction of the centrality of Christ in our lives, as our foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11) and cornerstone (1 Peter 2:4–7), is one of the core values that has been driving us to serve our students, who have died with Christ to this world (1 Peter 2:4–7).

We know that both our students and ourselves are standing on the same foundation, which is Christ Jesus. We serve believers because we seek to serve Christ Himself.

Gospel-Driven

We do what we do to see God’s Gospel being spread among the nations so that all will hear about He who gave Himself for their sins (1 Peter 3:18).

Advancing the Gospel is not only a phrase we say but a life we live. Until the day we stand before the throne from every tribe, language, people, and nation singing to the One who was put to death and bought us by His blood.

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”
- James 1:22
